Therapy for Trauma & PTSD in Georgia & Florida

Online Therapy for Women in Georgia & Florida

Are you struggling to gain control of your life due to current challenges or past experiences?

Difficult experiences are a common part of life, but sometimes those experiences are so dysregulating, they stay with us and cause ongoing harm. Maybe you find yourself having nightmares, flashbacks or feeling anxious most of the day. Problems emerge when the danger has passed, but our brains continue to operate like the danger is still present. We can feel stuck in ‘fight-or-flight’.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this on every facet of your life.

Trauma & PTSD Therapy can help

It may feel impossible now, but you can thrive in all aspects of your life again. You can be freed from the chains of your trauma. You can move forward in your life and no longer feel stuck. And I can help you get there.

Trauma & PTSD Therapy helps you:

  • Understand how past or current experiences affect your daily functioning

  • Process these experiences in a safe and supportive way so they no longer feel like they affect you on a daily basis

  • Learn the tools that will help navigate through every day life, so you can find meaning & purpose as you move into the future.

In my practice, I primarily use Internal Family Systems. to help clients heal from trauma. I prefer this modality due to it’s non pathologizing nature, it’s effectiveness and of the lack of necessity to discuss the trauma in detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I use a combination of Internal Family Systems, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy to increase self awareness, self love and create necessary change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative, evidence-based model that helps people heal by accessing and loving their protective and wounded inner parts. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. We also all have a core Self. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal. By helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts, IFS creates inner and outer connectedness (Richard C. Schwartz, 2000). I am currently Level 2 Trained with the IFS Institute.

Attachment-Based Therapy explores how one’s childhood experiences might impact their ability to form meaningful bonds as adults. In attachment-based therapy, therapists work with people who need help rebuilding trust in relationships.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy is an increasingly popular approach aimed at helping clients to increase relaxation while removing negative or stressful judgments. This technique helps to teach clients how to deal with emotional stressors reflectively instead of reflexively (Hofmann et al., 2010).

  • I generally recommend to work together for at least 6 months, but we can assess this more based on your individual needs. I want to meet you wherever you are in your life, and support you accordingly.

  • If you go to the “contact” page you can request a free phone consultation. During this consultation we will briefly review your needs, assess if we are the right fit for each other, answer your questions, and what the next step will be after that.
